Replace Love with Respect!

 

Can’t we replace love with respect?

Wondering why this question?

At the moment, my mind is choked,

And I am in a state of congestion.

I never understand the meaning of love,

As the examples present,

Gave me a hefty shove,

People call it love,

When they abuse,

The reason they put forward is the anger as an excuse,

When they slap,

When they beat,

They just call it a moment of heat,

When they throw acid,

Wait, let me clarify at this moment,

It's not for a particular gender act,

All the acts I am quoting,

Are completely gender-neutral,

As any gender can be brutal.

So, I was saying,

Acid attacks in the name of love,

I mean, really,

I can’t even call it silly!
Actually,

I am out of words,

Killing someone,

For love, hurting someone in the name of love,

And wait, I don’t know where it comes from,

All is fair, in love and war,

Being more selfish and desiring to attain more,

I strongly object,

Howcome, human goes against the usual rules of humanity,

Making someone’s life a calamity!

Is there any solution to all these?

Can you think of a solution to all these?

I know, many will say,

Stringent laws, harsh punishments,

I know they can be.

What is your say,

If I’ll say,

Can’t we replace love with respect!

As respect will never fetch your jealousy,

Hatred, forceful desire to be with someone,

Respect will always allow hearing one,

It will always allow, to live and let live!


Love is Respect!

    You are always right n here too.
    Just a word clarification
    Love means when you take responsibility of someone. Like parents take responsibility of children, elder brother/sister take care of Youngers.

    Respect is what you give in return of love.
    Like we respect our parents, elder sisters etc.

    I don't know of US but as you know in India. Traditionally, Husband loves wife & wife respects Husband. (Don't know today's time but earlier it used to b so)
